Beyond its beaches, Rota holds a coastal Mediterranean forest with a life of its own.
The pine wood shelters plants and animals, and it is a good place to walk in the shade and get close to nature without leaving the town. Among its boardwalks lives the common chameleon, another of Rota's treasures.
In the episode of «Más allá del mar» devoted to the pine wood, Andrés Barba walks it with Carolina Bonhomo, head of the Environment Department at Rota Town Council, who explains why it matters ecologically.
