Inside the Natural Monument, on foot, whenever the tide allows. The corraleros guide it in Spanish, and the Rota Tourist Office handles the booking.

Step inside the wall and watch it fish
The best way to understand a corral is to walk through one at low tide.
With a corralero alongside you, you follow the stone wall from the inside, see the water the tide leaves behind, and watch how the catch is taken by hand. Along the way you'll hear about the craft, its history, and the life that thrives in the shelter of the stone.
It is an unhurried outdoor activity, set to the rhythm of the sea. The timetable isn't forced: the tide decides.

The tidal coefficient measures how strong the tide is: the higher it is, the further the sea pulls back and the more of the corral is uncovered. The time shown is when the group meets, so come a little earlier.

Why are there only a few visit dates?
Because the sea has to pull back far enough, and it has to do it in daylight — which does not happen every day. That is where the dates in the calendar come from, and they cannot be moved.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The visit takes place outdoors on the intertidal shore, so rough weather or a heavy sea can force it to be cancelled or moved to another day. You'll be told when you book.
What language is the visit in?
In Spanish. The corraleros who guide it are association members, and Spanish is the only language we can guarantee. If you need another one, write to info@loscorralesderota.com before booking: we will look into it, but we cannot promise it.
Where does the money go?
Every euro the association receives goes to conserving, rebuilding and maintaining the monument: the stone walls and the work of keeping them standing.
