The short version
This site uses one thing that needs your permission: the Google Ads tag we use to measure which adverts bring visitors to the monument.
The association advertises its guided visits on Google. To know which adverts work, and to stop paying for the ones that do not, the site loads the Google Ads tag AW-17862259314 through gtag.js. That tag writes cookies in your browser, which is why we ask you first.
There is nothing else: no traffic analytics, no heat maps, no social media buttons, no third-party advertising inside the pages. Since advertising measurement is the only purpose that needs permission, the notice has two buttons rather than a panel of categories: there would be nothing to configure.
Nothing runs before you accept
We use Google Consent Mode v2. When the page opens, and before anything from Google loads, the site declares advertising storage, user data for advertising, ad personalisation and analytics storage all denied. It also turns on ads data redaction: until you give permission, Google receives no identifiers.
If you accept, those permissions switch to granted and the tag starts writing its cookies. If you reject, they stay denied and none are written. Either way we save your answer so we do not ask again on every page.
With JavaScript disabled no tag loads at all: there is nothing to consent to, and the site reads exactly the same.

Google Ads cookies
Names in the _gcl_ family, such as _gcl_au or, if you arrive from an advert, _gcl_aw. Google's tag sets them on this site's own domain to link the click on the advert to the visit. They last up to 90 days and Google manages them.

Browser local storage: not a cookie, and it never travels to any server. It records whether you accepted or rejected and on what date, so we do not ask again. It is forgotten after 12 months.

Session storage. It marks that the home page has already sent you once to the version of the site in your browser's language, so it does not loop. It disappears when you close the tab.
The YouTube videos
Pages with video do not load the player: they show a still image with a play button. Until you press it, your browser does not connect to YouTube and nothing of theirs is stored.
Once you press it, the video opens from youtube-nocookie.com. From that point on YouTube is in charge: whatever it does with playback data is governed by Google's policies, not by this one.
The contact form
The form uses no cookies. It is processed on the loscorralesderota.com server itself; there is no external service and no third-party captcha. To hold back spam, the server checks how long the form took to fill in and how many submissions arrive from the same IP address, and writes the discarded ones to a temporary log.

Changing your mind
At the foot of every page there is a «Cookie preferences» button: press it and the notice comes back with the same two options. Your new answer replaces the old one.
You can also delete the cookies and local storage for loscorralesderota.com from your browser settings. If you do, the site forgets your decision and will ask again.
After 12 months we ask again anyway, even if you do nothing.
